Alloy Navigator Express 7.1 Released

Alloy Software is proud to announce the immediate availability of Alloy Navigator Express version 7.1. This minor upgrade offers numerous new features and improvements based on direct feedback from our customers. Here is a list of some of the changes in the new release:

API

The API module enables you to integrate desktop products, web-based solutions, and ERP systems with Alloy Navigator Express. The API is a RESTful web service supporting JSON and XML requests over HTTP or HTTPS. It provides two-way communication with Alloy Navigator, allowing to query information as well as create tickets, work orders, assets, and other objects, as well as execute workflow actions on existing objects.

Web Portal Enhancements

In version 7.1, the Web Portal received several new major features, as well as improvements to the existing functionality.

The Web Portal now offers a fully featured dashboard supporting interactive charts and data views for monitoring IT operations, analyzing current trends, and staying on top of important events.

All grid views now have the new preview pane where users can see the details of the currently selected record without leaving the screen.

My Calendar and Technician Availability Calendar were added to help technicians and managers visualize upcoming events and task assignments.

Accessibility Improvements

Now users can customize the font for data views, text boxes, and some other screen elements of the Main Console.

New Dashboard Widgets

Version 7.1 introduces a new dashboard counter widget which displays values and trends on the dashboard. It can display any numeric data such as the number of open incidents, as well as indicate whether the number is going up or down.

Enhanced Active Directory Integration

The new 7.1 release greatly simplifies the task of synchronizing contact information in organizations with complex network topology. Alloy Navigator Express now can synchronize contact details from several Active Directory servers residing on different domains.

Latest Technology

The updated Audit Tools module now supports the latest versions of Windows, OS X, and Linux. There are also numerous improvements to its SNMP discovery and hardware identification capabilities, added support for IPv6, and the ability to collect and visualize information about printer toner supplies.

Simplified Update

The installation of new updates for Alloy Navigator Express becomes a snap with the new “Full Upgrade” option allowing to update all locally installed components with a single click.
